Video Script Writer

Writers are responsible for helping Complexly achieve our mission of
creating trustworthy stuff that inspires curiosity and lowers barriers
to knowledge building by creating scripts that engage our audience. This
includes researching and writing assigned scripts, workshopping script
ideas, and submitting scripts on time.

We’re looking for a freelance writer to help shape the content for SciShow Space. This will be done by researching, writing, and revising scripts that are clear, compelling, accurate, and fascinating. These scripts are typically
full-length videos varying from 500-2000 words, and the goal is the
same: engage with people’s curiosity, tell an interesting story, and
make sure it’s factually accurate so we can inspire learning.

You should be able to juggle multiple ongoing projects at once, meet
deadlines, and research a variety of topics. Being a strong communicator
is essential to convey topics to a broad audience and work cohesively
with your team.

Contract Writer, Medicine and Health Care

Description: Texas Monthly is looking for a freelance writer who can report and write two articles a month on medical and health care issues across the Lone Star State. We seek stories both about groundbreaking innovations and the persistent problems plaguing these fields. Beyond merely reporting the latest news, this coverage will focus on narratives and characters to make often-complex medical issues relatable and compelling for readers. This is a contract position available to writers based anywhere in Texas and will report to the senior editor for business and innovation.

Contract responsibilities include:

Description: Kouvenda Media is looking for a consulting editor to work with Obscured’s lead reporter May-November. The ideal editor has expertise in accountability/investigative projects, reporting on law enforcement and/or health and longform journalism (preferably podcasting). The project will run May through November/December.
